When In Doubt, Listen To Man With Longer Beard #30: Meditation, Aphorisms & Yoga Sage Brushes With Wisdom

$30* Off on International Flights

What follows is a grocery list of things I've learned from life and various approaches to living exploring Creativity & Spirituality---being an artist, student of meditation, regular fasting & yoga, internal yearning towards higher consciousness and becoming a more creative being for positive transformation. These are general principles and observations I try to live by and navigate the wilderness of Maya with. Some are Confucius sounding hence the jest with the title if the long bearded Chinese sage wanted to narcissistically self--aggrandize himself.

Here's the thirtieth batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. We outgrow people. We outgrow things. We outgrow identities. Most often, no one will tell you when that identity is too small for you. Avoid the advice of those afraid of losing who they need you to be at the expense of your growth.

2. Religion in the hands of tribal groups, cultures, and societies is often a dangerous thing. It creates a rigid exclusivity, a mob and hive mentality more willing to engage in violence while suppressing self individualization and personal growth.

3. Don't let your happiness and dreams be sacrificed to the false god of appearances.

4. Most people aren't aware of what they're creating. Most of the time it's chaos, duality, and separation from harmony. Unconscious creation from all these uncontrolled rampant conflicting thoughts and emotions makes them prisoners in the jail without walls they unknowingly create for themselves.

5. There are consequences to thoughts and actions beyond what is seen and experienced in this world. Laws are for those asleep to the realities of Karma.

6. What you haven't defeated in your youth becomes more pronounced and powerful with age. Becoming more Spiritually mature and aware means realizing the oil spills of your inner chaos out in the world are your responsibility to clean up and cap at the source.

7. If you knew how long it took you to get to this point in your Existence, you wouldn't so willingly slide down the ladder of de--evolution chasing material things and material pleasures.

8. Visit India, and one of two things will happen after you return: Your life will completely get better or your life will completely fall apart then get better. Either way it's because the you that returned is no longer compatible with the you that came before.

9. Beginning to cry for things beyond this world is happiness for a Yogi. Crying for things other than the bondage of the body, it's material needs, desires and attachments, is the sound of connecting to Higher Freedoms.

10. All the accolades, degrees, rewards, wealth, admiration, and success in the world is small compared to achieving constant contact with the Illuminating Void, the Lightless Light, the Divine Womb of Emptiness.

What follows is a grocery list of things I’ve learned from life and various approaches to living exploring Creativity & Spirituality—being an artist, student of meditation, regular fasting & yoga, internal yearning towards higher consciousness and becoming a more creative being for positive transformation. These are general principles and observations I try to live by and navigate the wilderness of Maya with. Some are Confucius sounding hence the jest with the title if the long bearded Chinese sage wanted to narcissistically self–aggrandize himself.

Here’s the twenty–ninth batch of Zen BrowniesTasty, mouth–watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Recorded history is just the current pop music on the planet. It’s also anthropocentric. There’s all this other music the planet has heard that people never will.

2. The war that matters most is liberation from your ego. Turn the binoculars inward to find where the real enemies and traitors are.

3. If you’re always in a hurry, how in control of your life are you? People think it makes them important when in reality makes them numb, distracted and asleep. It makes people’s consciousness scattered and paper thin. If you are truly in control of your life, then you wouldn’t be in a rush or hurry all the time.

4. Junk food is addictive and nutrient deficient, the perfect combination to have long term customers which is the intent at the price of your long term health.

5. You can have feelings. Don’t let them have you.

6. Money, knowledge and power in the hands of degenerated thinking is a vineyard of evil.

7. Don’t waste time with the secondhand battles of the ego. They’re just diversionary skirmishes keeping you in the prison of it’s identities of race, country, religion and gender wearing the blindfold of pride.

8. The inside jokes of the Universe are so worth it.

9. There’s Higher Consciousness and then there’s “success” here. The level of consciousness needed to become a millionaire or billionaire isn’t very high. The fact remains you cannot buy Higher Consciousness with money.

10. When you take off the blindfold of ignorance, don’t be surprised it was you who was the assassin of your Soul.

Here’s the twenty–eighth batch of Zen BrowniesTasty, mouth–watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Giving with expectation isn’t giving. Doing so is giving on ego loan.

2. The less information given, the less life experience and perspective acquired, the more likely to form the suggested opinion.

3. The dreams of defeated people turn into the anti–aircraft guns for yours.

4. Reading and memorizing Scripture is only a beginner’s step. At some point you have to graduate to the practice of some higher technique like Meditation and mantras.

5. Feeling equally at home in motion and stillness is the sign of an evolving Soul.

6. Divinity will appear in the desert of your thoughts and senses.

7. If you do not like how the world is, begin meditating and you will improve it in ways beyond what your logical mind can conceive. You’ll also evolve out of this level of existence long before it will perfect itself.

8. In the solitude of Meditation, you’ll meet deeper levels of yourself.

9. You can outgrow the entire human experience like you outgrow a toy. To outsiders it may look like renunciation or deprivation, but in reality it simply became the next version of playing with trucks in the sandbox.

10. My culture showed me what I think I wanted. My Gurus reminded me what I really wanted.

Here's the twenty--seventh batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. The early church was an enemy of science. These days corporations and industries are enemies of science restricting more enlightened methods and inventions in the name of their own self preservation and profit.

2. If you fall in love with your viewpoints, how will you ever meet Higher Consciousness?

3. Instead of spending time and energy pursuing trivial goals, focus on your creativity, imagination and Spirituality. You'll free yourself from boredom and experience peace and contentment from the inside out as opposed to trying to acquire it outside yourself.

4. The paradigm of emotions and intellect is not Enlightenment.

5. Reasons for war should be examined deeper than soundbites and headlines. The lives of our youth are worth more than someone else's stock portfolio.

6. People can profess a faith and attend church regularly and still be Spiritually starving or bankrupt. Text is only a photograph of what it's like to be at a certain level of consciousness. Being there is the goal.

7. No method is applicable to all situations and scenarios. All systems unravel under certain circumstances and the continued practicing of them does not constitute a solution.

8. Growing is a process of casting off who you thought you were like the skin a chameleon.

9. People spend their entire lives wishing for frivolous things. At the end of their lives, they may wish they had simply wished for a life without disease, suffering and struggle.

10. With regular Meditation, you'll experience moments that peer into Eternity, that trigger gasps reminding you that there's greater beauty in the Universe beyond anything in this world.

Here’s the twenty–sixth batch of Zen BrowniesTasty, mouth–watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. If government fails to work in theory and practice, you can continue to vote with your dollar every day not every few years. Voting with your dollar speaks louder and longer over time.

2. Ask yourself if this world is good enough for you. If you can imagine better worlds, what makes you think The Creator cannot top your wildest fantasy utopias?

3. Theory is not reality. What’s perfect in your head will often fall apart outside of it.

4. When you focus on health, looking good is a by–product. Eat clean organic food, drink clean water, get necessary rest, walk and exercise regularly.

5. There’s chump change pleasures and then there’s the forces that rotate galaxies.

6. People want to be right over solving problems which contributes to and often creates the problem to begin with.

7. Honor the Soul over the country. Souls are Eternal, countries aren’t.

8. You can pretend to be on this planet simply for cultural and social purposes or choose to interact with reality at a deeper level.

9. The Creator is both older and younger than you at the same time. Eternally ancient and eternally new.

10. No attention span=no Meditation=no Higher Consciousness. Which means you’ll be stuck at this level of existence for a long time.

What follows is a grocery list of things I’ve learned from life and various approaches to living exploring Creativity & Spirituality—being an artist, student of meditation, regular fasting & yoga, internal yearning towards higher consciousness and becoming a more creative being for positive transformation. Here’s the twenty–fifth batch of Zen BrowniesTasty, mouth–watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Music, art, travel, and meditation are the highs that keep you high.

2. If you’re not becoming successful, try thinking differently than your thoughts. They may be worn out hand me downs from your ancestors that didn’t work for them either—still running in you long after they clocked out of life here.

3. Opinions are a lot easier to acquire than Higher Consciousness.

4. There are Freedoms that cannot be acquired by passing laws. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion are just the basic entry level stuff. Freedom from thought and emotion, Freedom from disease and aging, Freedom from Karma and ancestral interference, and Freedom from the human condition cannot be acquired with the ink from a pen. They can be acquired over time with the regular dedicated practice of Meditation.

5. Success without Spiritual practice leads to ego, arrogance, and addictions.

Get Happy with HeartMath Transformation Systems

6. More often than not, people tend to look outside themselves for happiness—to lasso something “permanent” to make them feel better whether it’s other people, possessions, status, whatever. Find it within and the search is over where it’s actually hard not to be happy. Don’t delude and entangle yourself in the many ways of temporary happiness in this world.

7. One wish? Simple. That I not be allowed to slip into the sleep of this level of consciousness ever again. That one wish will encompass all others you can conceive of from where you are now. You’ll even find you’ve outgrown earlier wishes and fantasy scenarios as they’ll no longer be seen as goals or successes from a higher plateau. They’ll be seen for what they are: The dreams of someone who was asleep.

8. We’re all essentially heavier forms of light here and the diet of all diets is meditation.

9. Sovereign Beings don’t need sovereign countries. They can be sovereign in a dictatorship. They are the model to transcend the social and power structures created by lower consciousness. They are the living trump card in this world and no amount of wealth and power can cage them because they exist outside small minded structures and human equations.

10. Think about what this world looks like to Higher Beings: Anyone doing a serious dedicated Spiritual practice on a daily basis on this planet sticks out like a sore thumb. There’s not a lot of competition for attention from Higher Beings so the odds are in your favor if you start.

These are general principles and observations I try to live by and navigate the wilderness of Maya with. Here's the twenty--fourth batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Time spent trying to get the approval of others is time spent not being happy and at peace with oneself.

2. The world of emotions is the world of duality. The world of Bliss, peace and harmony exists outside of the world of emotion. You'll never roll sevens all the time in the world of emotions so learn to walk away from the slot machine.

3. Meditation is the daily investment in Higher Consciousness and independent, internally generated peace and happiness.

4. Older people who are mean, cruel, and condescending are just making a display of their own failures with themselves and being poor role models of empowerment to younger generations.

5. Some people mellow with age. Others expand in both directions of harder and softer and integrate more of the whole.

6. The piece of carbon you are piloting is only a small part of the entirely of You. The body you see, the carbon you see, is but the tip of a multidimensional iceberg across space and time.

7. We're all tourists on a deeper level no matter where we are on the planet. Home is everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

8. People who believe and proclaim there are no Higher Truths use it as an excuse not to try or experience them and think they are undeserving. How many decades of research and traveling the world searching every corner have they accumulated to reach such a conclusion? Usually none. Higher Truths are unfamiliar territory outside their comfort zone. It is most often a statement of frustration and resignation with one's life.

9. The outer life won't change until the inner life does.

10. Gold is the gold in modern societies. Water and shade are the gold in a desert. Higher Consciousness is the gold everywhere.

Here's the twenty--third batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Unplugging from thoughts and senses with daily periods of silence and stillness in meditation will make you more intelligent and creative. All things grow in silence.

2. It's better to be a student on higher dimensions than king of an anthill here.

3. You can create a life that's uniquely you. You can make your own roads, your own rites of passage. It doesn't cost that much money. It just takes the skill of not being too concerned with what people may say or think about you. Caged birds only sing because that's all they know.

4. Music, meditation, and travel all feed into each other and are infinite mines to deeper growth and inspiration.

5. Fear and ego lead to bowing to the wrong things in life.

6. Even with all the wealth in the world, the Human experience still has ceilings. There is more to Existence than being Human.

7. Take life by the reins before Arthritis sets in.

8. Even if you cannot change things, you can always change your perception of them.

9. Truth is often hindered by popular belief.

10. Meditation never ends. If even the Avatars have to do the work here, what makes people think they are somehow off the hook?

Here's the twenty--second batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. Wisdom is passed onto those who make different choices from the masses.

2. Educated people excel at overcomplicating things.

3. Intellect is something you have to outgrow to progress further spiritually and ultimately toward Enlightenment.

4. Karmaless time wears no watch.

5. The first step in kicking paradigms to the curb is realizing and deciding they do not apply to you and seeing them as the stale cultural albatross they are. If these are not ongoing active choices, don't be surprised if someone else's template or version of things becomes your identity by default due to passive consent.

6. Learn to unlearn, then you can learn.

7. Love often causes people to overestimate the object of their affections actual state of evolution and development.

8. Live outside of culture and become the deeper you.

9. If you don't master your body, senses and emotions there are doors that will forever remain closed.

10. Take the trip via experience. Words are just photographs of places traveled by practice and intuition.

Here's the twenty--first batch of Zen Brownies---Tasty, mouth--watering morsels to reduce consumption of bad karma and sweeten the recipe of your life:

1. If the rational logical mind understood Creation better than it thinks it does, it would manifest things much quicker and with far less effort.

2. Low cultural ceilings don't make giants.

3. Travel as much as you can. You get something just by being in different places---something intangible, subtle, energetic you can't quantify. Think of it as an energy scavenger hunt collecting pieces of the jigsaw puzzle that is you.

4. Spoonfed the dogmas of country, race, and religion are the ones starving of Spirit.

5. There are no rewards for being small, being asleep, being a dirty lampshade. If you don't dive deeper, you won't retrieve the white pearls of higher consciousness.

Get Focused with HeartMath Transformation Systems

6. Caged birds only sing until they realize they're in a cage.

7. Until the level of consciousness on the planet evolves out of tribal mentalities, tribal societies and tribal religious perspectives, war will always be a problem.

8. Sometimes you have to fall, sometimes you have to hit a brick wall, but it's better than swallowing long term lies.

9. Matter is frozen light. Level of consciousness is the refrigerator setting. Thaw out and thaw up. It's all a question of where you are on the E equals MC squared thermometer.

10. Live at the level of nature or learn to escape and transcend it. There's no shortage of decent, good yet ignorant people. Nature bulldozes the ignorant and serves the wise.
